Leeds Target Fernandes

Championship side Leeds United are believed to be keen on taking Bolton Wanderers winger Fabrice Fernandes on loan after the Frenchman failed to make an impact during his stay at the Reebok Stadium.

The 26-year old joined the Trotters from Southampton in late August and had a successful debut as a substitute against Bulgarian side Lokomotiv Plovdiv soon after.

Since then he has been unable to build on that performance and has been limited to outings in the UEFA Cup away games against Plovdiv and Besiktas. He was substituted in both of those matches and has rarely featured at all in the Premiership campaign.

Fernandes first came to England in 2000 when joining Fulham on loan from Rennes and has since played for Glasgow Rangers, Olympique Marseille and the Saints, with whom he spent four years.

Leeds have already signed Liam Miller on loan from Manchester United and are looking for more creative recruits, Fernandes could well fit the bill providing that Sam Allardyce allows him to depart the Wanderers.
