Bolton Hand Trial To Sakho

Bolton Wanderers have handed a short trial to former Leeds United player Lamine Sakho as they look for fresh blood to add to their successful squad.

The 28-year old has struggled to break into the side at French club St Etienne and infamous football agent Willie McKay suggests that a loan deal involving Sakho could be possible in the January transfer window.

"Lamine is to spend a few days training at Bolton," McKay told Sky Sports.

"Sam Allardyce is losing a number of players during the African Cup of Nations and he is looking to bring in new players. Lamine enjoyed his time in England with Leeds before he got injured and he would be keen on a return.

"He has struggled to establish himself at St Etienne and he wants to be playing regularly. We will see how he goes during training and he could make a loan move in January if all goes well."

Sakho was first brought to England by Peter Reid in August 2003 but due to injury made just 17 appearances in a Leeds side that was ultimately relegated from the Premiership at the end of the 2003-2004 season.

Premiership rivals Wigan Athletic are also beleived to be casting an eye on the Senegal international who has also played at Olympique Marseille and Racing Club Lens.
