Stelios Aims To Go One Better

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Stelios Giannakopoulos says that the club has targeted a place in next season's Champions League competition.

The 31-year old firmly beleives that the club can move onto the next level of their progression if they continue to show the same sort of desire that was applied during last weekend's win over Arsenal.

Giannakopoulos has extensive Champions League experience after spending seven years with Greek club Olympiakos and he now hopes to play in the competition with his current club who currently lie sixth in the Premiership table.

"Our purpose is to get a Champions League place," he told the official website.

"We need to go one step further every season - this is the target of the team. It's not a distant dream for us and if we don't make too many mistakes we will have a massive opportunity to get there.

"We have to keep on going like we did against Arsenal. We need to play like that in all the matches not just against teams like Arsenal.

"Aston Villa is next and then Everton. We need to keep the same rhythm."
