Bolton Back In For Ono

Bolton manager Sam Allardyce has rekindled his interest in Feyenoord's Japanese star Shinji Ono but concedes that the club may be unable to bring him to England if the Dutch club want a transfer fee.

The Wanderers had previously shown an interest in Ono during the summer but the player suffered an achillies injury at the start of the season which prevented any deal from being concluded.

Now back to full fitness Ono is being made available by Feyenoord and Bolton are said to be fighting it out with clubs from the J-league in a bid to snap up the energetic midfielder who is well known to fellow countryman and current Bolton star Hidetoshi Nakata.

Bolton chief Sam Allardyce confirmed today that he would be interested in signing the former Urawa Reds ace.

"He is a player that we would be very interested," said Allardyce earlier today.

"If we could get him on a loan deal then that would be very nice, but I'm sure that his club will be looking for a fee."
