Agathe Set To Sign For Wanderers

Bolton Wanderers have confirmed that they hold a strong interest in former Hibernian and Celtic winger Didier Agathe and they are hopeful of striking a deal with the player over the coming days.

The Frenchman is currently a free agent having ended his six year stay with the Bhoys recently and Sam Allardyce has revealed that a deal until the end of the season is imminent.

"I am very interested in signing Didier Agathe, He is free to join us and we would like to bring him in should the financial situation stacks up." said Allardyce to the official website earlier today

"I am hopeful of concluding arrangements in the next day or so. There's still a number of issues to overcome but if everything goes to plan he should be in a position to sign for us.

"He has all right attributes to make it a success in the Premiership. He has pace and a good work ethic. His fitness is something we'll have to work and should he sign he can play a part between now and the end of the season."

Agathe first came to British football in 1998 and starred initially for Raith Rovers and Hibernian before Celtic took him to Parkhead midway through the 2000-2001 season.

He has amassed well over 300 games in Scottish football and has played his part in Celtic's domestic glory in recent seasons, most notably when they where under the stewardship of Martin O'Neill.
