Gardner Wins Player of Year Award

The annual Bolton Wanderers awards ceremony took place yesterday evening and Jamaican defender Ricardo Gardner was to scoop the majority voting for the clubs Player of the Year.

Gardner beat off strong competition from skipper Kevin Nolan and Stelios Giannakopoulos to get his hands on the award which was previously held by the departing Bruno N'Gotty.

Recently capped Irish international Joey O'Brien claimed the Young Player of the Year award ahead of the likes of Ricardo Vaz-Te and Jarostaw Fojut, who claimed the Youth Academy Player of the Year earlier in the day.
