Bolton Fail In Pires Swoop - Report

Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers have both missed out on the signature of Arsenal's Robert Pires according to the Daily Mirror newspaper.

Pires is set to end his six year stay in North London and looks likely to now join up with La Liga side Villareal next season despite the fact that the interested English clubs had agreed to match his wage demands of £50,000 per week.

The 32-year old ex-Marseille winger won the World Cup with France in 1998 and has also collected Premiership and FA Cup winners medals during his time with the Gunners.
