Hull want Black Cats' Skipper

Phil Brown's Hull City have revealed that they have made an undisclosed bid for Sunderland skipper Dean Whitehead. Assistant boss Brian Horton, speaking after the FA Cup win at Newcastle, said: "We have identified probably four or five players and Dean's one of them.

"It's something we've been identifying in the past 18 months, players who can come in and strengthen the side."

This would be a good signing for Hull, however I can't see Sbragia selling his club captain to relegation battle rivals, especially when we do not have adequate cover for Whitehead's centre midfield position unless silly money was offered.

Sbragia has also said that he will not sell his best players unless silly money is offered, and I would consider Whitehead one of the better midfielders at the club.
