Hull will be without influential captain Ian Ashbee after he recieved his 10th booking of the season while Sunderland will have a full strength squad, minus George McCartney (calf), if Kieran Richardson and Dean Whitehead do return to training today as reported.
This is a must win game for both sides and would set the ball rolling if the Black Cats were to win.
Sunderland travel to West Brom next Saturday and a win here against Hull and away to the Baggies could just about see Sunderland safe for next season.
