Blackpool yesterday made a double swoop in the loan market, signing a goalkeeper and a midfielder before the deadline hit. Manager Simon Grayson had been chasing the pair for some time and was further boosted by the news Paul Dickov could return to the first team this Saturday against Crystal Palace.
Blackpool started there dealing in the loan market by securing the signature of Scott Flinders. The former England under 20 player has signed until the end of the season by Saturday's opponents Crystal Palace. However the 'keeper won't be able to play against his parent club this weekend. Although it's expected he will put pressure on first team 'keeper Paul Rachubka and mount decent competition for his place.
The second signing is Spurs youngster Joe Martin. The 19 year old goes straight into contention for a starting place in Simon Grayson's XI for the game against Crystal Palace this weekend. The youngster is also a former England youngster having played at both under 16 and under 17 level.
The other good news is that Paul Dickov could return for this Saturday's game against Crystal Palace. The striker has been out injured for some time with a hamstring injury. But hopefully he will return this weekend and the seasiders can get back to winning ways.
