Roy Carroll is set to answer Ian Holloway's goalkeeping S.O.S by signing for the seasiders. Carroll, 33 is currently a freeagent after being released by Danish side Odense. The ex-Man United man boasts a lot of Premier League experience having played at West Ham and Derby County. He's also represented Northern Ireland.
Carroll famed for "that" Spurs goal that never was, could pull on a Blackpool shirt as early as next Tuesday against Spurs. The signing is yet confirmed by the club, but according to goal.com it will go through in the next few days. The deal is supposed to be a short term one; believed to be until the end of the season.
Blackpool earlier tried to sign Shay Given on loan but was rejected by Mancester City. Tottenham also rejected Blackpool's request to loan Ben Alnwick. Spurs Harry Redknapp opted to block the move due to the clubs upcoming meeting. Ian Holloway had earlier commented that his search was like been refused a request to borrow bread off a neigbour.
