Let's Have Some Football

The draw for the Europa Cup takes place at 12.30 today and thank goodness it means we might have some football to talk about.

After an understandably quiet summer - at least on the domestic front - we can start to look forward to some serious action.

In the meantime, the only headlines around today are on the lines of "Martin O'Neil: The rumours about me leaving Aston Villa will never stop."

That's probably because MoN is always eager to talk about it. And why not? A football manager's career is always volatile and I reckon the shelf life of any manager at any club is 3 years.

After that familairity sets in, motivation drops and it's time to move on.

But first there's the Europa Cup.

The games will be home and away on Thursday August 19 and August 26 to make it to the knockout stages of the competition.

The 74 clubs will be separated into five groups of ten and two groups of 12, with an equal number of sides seeded and unseeded within each group.
