Hull and Portsmouth played out a 0-0 draw at the KC Stadium on Saturday afternoon, a result that does neither sides hopes of avoiding the drop. T he draw leaves Hull in 15th with 34 points and only 5 points clear of the relegation zone. Portsmouth are 16th on 33 points only 4 points off the drop.

Peter Crouch had the first effort of the afternoon, although he volleyed well wide of Matt Duke's goal. Portsmouth created a better chance on 12 minutes when Dawson's poor clearance only found Johnson on the right touchline. He crossed for Crouch, but he could only head straight at Duke. Hull's first attempt came in the 20th minute when Geovanni  dragged his shot wide from 20 yards. Manucho then went close, volleying Mendy's cross just wide. on 36 minutes Portsmouth should've taken the lead when Crouch nodded a corner on for Younes Kaboul, but with Duke committed, the Pompey defender could only head over.

Hull's 1st real chance of the second half came from q Mendy cross, but Barmby couldn't get high enough at the back post to get his header on target. at the other end, David Nugent headed over from a decent position.
