Barnsley 2 – 0 Birmingham

The super reds ran out convincing winners over Birmingham City at Oakwell as they moved up to 16th place in the table and seven points above the relegation zone.
It is fair to say that Birmingham were poor but so were Hull a few weeks ago but we still managed to lose that so credit has to go to Barnsley for victory here.
Another goal from Tom Bradshaw and one from the excellent Fryers were the least the reds deserved and Bradshaw should have at least had a brace after missing a sitter towards the end.
The back four were outstanding throughout and it will be hard for McCarthy and Jackson who have both been excellent all season to get back in this team barring injury or the January sales.
In Midfield Barnes was excellent and had his best game so far as did Potts who is steadily improving but still not quite a Championship player yet. Moncur looked almost back to his best and I can see why Isgrove was selected over Hammill despite Hammill being excellent this season.
Williams I almost forgot to mention then but he is probably our player of the season so far.
Bradshaw scored again and he’s certainly doing the business in front of goal. His hold up play still needs a lot of work and he needs to be stronger at times but goals are what win you games and he’s certainly bagging at the moment.
Birmingham were the worst side I have seen at Oakwell this season and former red Marc Roberts looked a shadow of the player that we saw last season.
Their fed up fans probably don’t help the players but I can see why they aren’t happy watching that rubbish week in week out.
The boredom of the international break is now upon us and I think it comes at a bad time for us with the momentum we have of 7 points from the last 9 available.
Funnily enough we are now three games unbeaten since I said that we would go down so I’m sticking with that prediction. COYR.
