Kelechi Nwakali leaves Barnsley by mutual consent

Nigerian midfielder Kelechi Nwakali has departed Barnsley by mutual consent.

 

The Reds have been trying to offload Nwakali for a while, with the 28-year-old hardly playing since the 2024/25 season. 

 

He made 30 appearances in total for Barnsley and was frozen out by Conor Hourihane last season. 

 

Nwakali did not make an appearance under new boss Daniel Stendel.
