Barnsley host Leeds U21s in EFL Trophy

Barnsley will kick off their EFL Trophy campaign on Tuesday night when they host Leeds United under 21s at Oakwell.

The Reds were drawn in Northern Group G and are also due to visit Fleetwood and host Oldham.

Barnsley reached the Round of 32 last season, losing 5-0 at Port Vale.

There were four international call-ups within the squad, with Patrick Kelly representing Northern Ireland, Tyrese Noslin representing Curacao, Makenzie Kirk representing Northern Ireland under 21s and Jonathan Bland representing Leeds under 21s.

Since winning the competition in 2016, Barnsley have not progressed past the first knockout stage.

Daniel Stendel is expected to rotate his side.
