The first graduate of the Milton Keynes academy, Sam made a huge impression in his first season as a regular first team player.

Sam bagged his first competitive goal against Championship side Norwich City in the Carling Cup, and never looked back, notching ten by the turn of the year. And although his form dipped slightly after that, the striker possesses undoubted potential that could see him become a vital player for the Dons in coming years.

Sam's main assets are his lightning pace, composure in front of goal and fantastic touch during build-up. Even when not finding the target himself, his relentless running and the way he is always putting himself in the penalty area make him a nightmare for opposition defences to deal with and create plenty of space for the players around him.

At the start of the 2008/09 season Sam signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until summer 2010.
