Following Paul Ince from Macclesfield to the Dons upon the expiry of his contract at Moss Rose, Nav was the unsung hero of the Dons' double winning side.

Quietly operating in front of the back four, Alan showed not only his ability to break up play with a crunching tackle but also always provided a passing option for his teammates, switching the ball from side to side as the Dons probed to break down the more defensive sides visiting stadium:mk.

Alan remained a regular in the side following the arrival of Roberto Di Matteo as manager, making the step up to League One well, although new competition was provided by both the emerging Luke Howell and French loanee Flavien Belson.
