Wednesday night sees the last of the three home friendlies as Mark McGhee gets the chance to run the rule over the latest batch of trialists when we line up against Preston at Fir Park on Wednesday night. This should be a sterner test than Saturday as we prepare for Hearts on 9th August.

McGhee will take another look at Centre Half Seyfo Soley after the Gambian Internation captain impressed both the manager and the fans with his dominant second half display at Centre Half.

Soley will line up against one of his former sides having spent time with Preston a couple of season's ago. Based upon the short appearance he made on Saturday he looked as though he would be a useful addition to the squad.

We will also get a third chance to see Souleymane Mamam who has also impressed the manager. It may be better for the player if he got the chance to start rather than coming on when all the changes have been made and the game has become disjointed.

We may also get the chance to see keeper Chris Imley who has been on the bench for the last two games. This is important as McGhee needs someone to provide some pressure on Graeme Smith's position.

We also need to see a conclusion to the Jim O'Brien saga, the Celtic winger has been training with us for nearly four weeks, surely we must have made a decision if we are keeping him or not.

It must be time to come out and make a bid and smoke out Celtic and what they are looking for to allow the player to leave.
