Well open new season at home to Hibs

With the SPL fixtures released today Motherwell now know they will open the season with a home tie against Hibs.

The opening game of the season on 14th August is a re-run of the 6-6 game with Hibs towards the end of last season, although I am almost certain we won't see a repeat of this when the new season starts.

Motherwell have been given a reasonable start with three home games in the opening five, with Hibs, Celtic and Aberdeen all visiting Fir Park in the opening weeks.

Hopefully this will help provide a platform for the rest of the season, and another push for a European place.

We also see the return of the traditional Ne'erday Fixture with a trip to neighbours Hamilton on 1st of January, a rare treat indeed.

The announcement means the season can't be too far away and we will soon be back to normal football without the drone of a Vuvuzela in the background!
