Craig Brown has resigned as manager of Motherwell Football Club. He is set to join Aberdeen and replace former manager Mark McGhee, who was axed last week.

The 70 year old performed a quite extraordinary u-turn after turning down Aberdeen’s initial approach for him and his colleague Archie Knox, but then in an interview on 9th December he said that he would infact consider all possible avenues available to him.

The decision hasn’t been taken too kindly from the Motherwell supporters, with some fans branding him a “liar and dishonest” and when the inevitable happens and he joins the Dons, rest assured next week’s clash between the two teams will be a warm blooded affair.

The Motherwell board are said to be “extremely disappointed” by the actions of Aberdeen and are in the process of complaining to the SPL with regards to the way the discussions between both parties were conducted. Chairman John Boyle and the rest of the backroom staff at Motherwell do however have the utmost respect for Craig and Archie and they have left the club with no ill feeling towards them.
