Silly season under way and season isn’t even finished!

Reading the media and listening to phone ins it is apparent the transfer silly season has begun!

Tonight coming home I had the dubious pleasure of listening to the Radio Clyde phone in with Mark Guidi and Andy Walker taking part. They almost sold off our full squad on the show!

In particular they linked Murphy, Sutton ad Hateley with a move to Rangers and eulogised about how they could help Ally McCoist next season. When they were banging on about it there was a telling phrase used by Guidi.

He told the listeners, “Sutton would make an excellent squad player at Ibrox.” This for me is an admission the grass isn’t always greener when you leave Fir Park, where he would be playing every week.

They did also keep linking other teams players to the Old Firm; Eremenko, Goodwillie, Conway etc. As usual the smaller clubs are left finding the talent for the Old Firm to come along and pluck them away for next to nothing.

I wonder how Old Firm fans would feel if they listened to a phone in and some ill informed journalists were selling off their squad. Tonight they insisted that the Old Firm didn’t need to sell players, let’s see what happens when any decent offer comes in for McGregor, Hooper, Bougherra or Izaguerre.
