Murphy wins young player of the month for April

It has only taken the voting panel the best part of the whole season to vote for Jamie Murphy and recognise the fine season he has had to date.

The youngster has played in 48 of our 51 games to date scoring a dozen goals, and has looked good in a number of positions this season. He has looked good coming in off the left flank, and also as an out and out striker.

 

He was a mainstay of the Scotland Under 21 side beaten by Iceland in a play off for the European Championships, and it is surprising to me he has not been called into any of Craig Levein’s Scotland squads this season.

 

He has also been voted player of the round in the Quarter and Semi Finals of the Scottish Cup for his performances against Dundee Utd and St. Johnstone and will be looking to make the same impact next week in the Final.
