v Leeds

One more youngster signs up for longer and a potential “glamour” friendly in the pipeline.

Midfielder Jamie Pollock has signed on for another year according to the Wishaw Press’s top man Andy Weston.

The youngster has made four sub appearances for the first team since stepping up from the Under 19s.

It looks as though Stuart McCall has given the 19 year old every opportunity to make sure he can make the grade at the top level. It’s now up to Pollock to seize the opportunity with both hands.

Motherwell are also looking to line up a pre-season friendly on Sat July 16th, the Saturday before the SPL starts, against Leeds Utd.

Leeds are currently reviewing their schedule before confirming the date, this should be done by the end of the week.

If the game goes ahead this will remind many Well fans of a past pre-season friendly which saw Leeds see off Motherwell by four goals to nil in August 1982.

This would be a game worth going to see, if the prices are pitched correctly and fans don’t feel as though they are being ripped off to watch teams play a practise match.

The other down side for me it that it has not been announced as a Testimonial Game for Stephen Craigan who looks more and more unlikely to get the money spinner he deserves.
