Roeder Will Not Sell Youngsters

Glenn Roeder has hit out at speculation that his youngsters Steven Taylor and Charles N'Zogbia could leave the club, after reported interest from Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal.

Steven Taylor is reportedly a target for Chelsea, aswell as Liverpool and Tottenham, whilst Arsenal are supposedly keeping tabs on Frenchman, Charles N'Zogbia.

Both players are fan favourites on Tyneside, especially the home-grown centre-back, Steven Taylor.

But Glenn Roeder has stated that neither player will leave Newcastle anytime soon.

Roeder was incharge of Newcastle's academy before taking on the role of manager, and so will have an eye for young talent, which he does not wish to lose.

Roeder said:

"Chelsea have not been in contact with us. No club has spoken to us about Steven Taylor - and if they did, they would be wasting their time. There is no chance of Taylor leaving this club while I am manager.

"We are trying to build a squad of players here, not dismantle one, and youngsters like Taylor and Charles N'Zogbia are the future."
