Newcastle United's Alan Smith has been linked once again with a move to Everton. The Toffees have previously been linked to the striker before, in the 2007 summer transfer window prior to him signing for Newcastle. Smith who has struggled to make an impact at St James' Park could now be on his way out, with Everton manager David Moyes keen to give him another opportunity.
Smith signed for Newcastle on 2nd August 2007 in a 5 year deal costing approximately £6million (though officially the fee was undisclosed), he has since made 37 appearances for the club.
Club | Season | Competition | Appearances | Goals |

Moyes is said to still be keen on the 27 year old and prepared to offer £1.75million as he tries to enhance his squad in advance of the 2008/2009 campaign.

With the squad as thin as it is, he really actually probably shouldn't be sold. Funny, that.
all it would take is a couple of goals in as many weeks and he'd begin to pick himself up off the ground and do somethin for this club.
where are these goals comin from? @#$%& knows, but they'll come, sometime, and it'll be sooner with a bit of support.
he's had one nightmare season, let's give him the chance to put it behind him and re-emerge as the player he still could be again.

say thanks and send him of to everton releasing 45,000 in wages and a couple of million for a new player.

"There is some reason for the lack of transfers by NUFC other than their inability to find a player they want and agree a fee."
The basis for this premise? Pure speculation.
But Smith is nothing more than dead weight. He has has his season in the sun '60k' worth of fake tan. and like every other mercenery its time to move him on.
Shola wont be on 3/4 of what smith gets.
Ash will not consider going down ... do you have any idea of the financial implications of the Toon out the Prem. It would be the last thing he wants.. i'm surer he'd rather let FFS marry his daughter then Go down.
Well they say you are what ya eat.... Better call me 'mother' then rude boy..!
