Kinnear: "We'll Go Gung-Ho"

Both Newcastle United manager Joe Kinnear and Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp have given pre-match interviews as the two teams compete for the points in tomorrow's game. With both teams of 19 points and just goals separating the sides each will be looking to secure they place in mid table.
Kinnear made comparisons between the two teams in his interview with the Gazette;
"I've always maintained we'll go gung ho when we play at St James's Park. Away from home, we'll play safety first, but at home we have to go for it.
Spurs fans are like Newcastle fans in the way they like to see good football. I was born and bred on it at Spurs - we called it push and run under Bill Nicholson. He invented it.
We weren't allowed to play anything but good football; he had a fantastic philosophy which I still buy into today.
You keep the ball on the ground, interchange and have plenty of movement. You have to have standards.
When I played at Spurs we always had 11 internationals, whether it was England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.
Pat Jennings, me, Mike England, Dave McKay, Cyril Knowles, Jimmy Greaves, Martin Chivers, Martin Peters, Cliff Jones - they were all internationals.
Now Harry (Redknapp) wants to have them back up there as a big side."
He told the BBC;
"The league is that tight at the moment we cannot let up. We're unbeaten in five matches now, three of which were away, but we must carry on with that run into the New Year.
I'm delighted with how things are going at the moment and confidence is very high.
We can't wait for Spurs and hopefully we'll be sat here talking about a six-game unbeaten run come Sunday night."
Whilst Redknapp took the opportunity todiscuss why he turned down Newcastle United, despite being convinced he was going to take it.
