Newcastle United defender James Perch has been hit with a 3 match first team ban after picking up a red card for Violent Conduct in yesterday's reserve game against Manchester United. Perch will now miss games against Aston Villa (A), Blackpool (A) and Liverpool (A) which all take place after they face Wolves at home on April 2nd.
So far there has been no official comment from the club and reserve coach Peter Beardsley refused to be drawn on it when interviewed after the game.

Same thing (which for obvious reasons went unnoticed) happened to Xisco in September when he was sent off in a reserve game against Sunderland.
By googling I found this in n article;
Guessing that this is the same with all reserve games?

Quote:Daily Telegraph
The FA rules state that if a player receives a red card in a preseason friendly for a relatively minor offence then the one match ban can be served in what is termed a non-first team game. This means the ban can be served in a reserve match.
But if the red card is for the three most serious misdemeanours - violent conduct, serious foul play and spitting - then the three match ban applies only to first-team matches
Guessing that this is the same with all reserve games?
