Despite protests from Birmingham fans, Steve Bruce has revealed he still wants to bring Lee Bowyer to St. Andrews.

Many Blues fans opposed the move, so Lee Bowyer rejected the move, as he wanted to be at a club where he is wanted.

Bruce said:

"We would still like to do something with Lee Bowyer," Bruce told Sky Sports. "He is a player I do admire and I think it has got all blown out of proportion, as things do.

"I have still got an interest in the player, but whether he is still available or not, I am not sure. It has been two or three weeks since we have spoken to him and we will see how things develop."
