Travelling Fans Rewarded

Newcastle United chairman Freddy Shepherd has revealed he may reward those fans who went to the away leg against Deportivo.

There were a small group of travelling Newcastle fans in Spain, who at times could be heard over the home crowd.

Shepherd may look into paying for these fans tickets travel and accommodation for an away leg in either France or Italy IF Newcastle reach the final of the Inter-Toto Cup.

Shepherd said:

"We know just how difficult it was for our supporters to get to La Coruna last Wednesday night, and some of them had to travel all over Europe before they finally got there.

"But as soon as we got into the stadium, we could see and hear them on the opposite side of the ground. And at times, they still managed to out-shout the home crowd.

"We counted them and if we get through to the final of the Intertoto Cup, I would love to take them to either Rome or Marseille, and we are looking into the possibility of providing a plane, hotel and match tickets.

"I feel it is the least we can do for them."

If you were one of these fans, details are on the Official Site at www.nufc.co.uk
