Newcastle United caretaker boss Glenn Roeder and players Alan Shearer and Scott Parker give their views on yesterday's FA Cup sixth round draw in which the Magpies' were drawn away at Chelsea.

Glenn Roeder (speaking to Newcastle World): "Looking at the players after the draw was made, I could see they are up for the challenge of going to Stamford Bridge.

"It didn't go well for us there in the league this season, but this gives the players another opportunity to get the result the fans and club want."

Meanwhile, skipper Alan Shearer, who was forced to sit out of the Southampton tie due to injury (calf), told Newcastle World: "It's the toughest one of the lot to be honest. If we are to achieve anything this year it's going to be the hard way.

"We've got to treat this as our cup final. The fans will go down in their thousands, we'll give it a right good go and see what happens."

And Scott Parker told the club's official website: "There's no doubt it is a tough draw, and it is obviously the toughest draw we could have asked for.

"Chelsea are a quality side, they have strength in depth all over the pitch and it will be a massive test for us. But we won't be afraid of going there, because we have a lot of quality as well.

"When you get to the quarter-finals you are down to the nitty gritty, and if you are going to win the FA Cup then you have to beat the best teams around."

Newcastle United have not won at Stamford Bridge since since 1986.
