Newcastle United skipper Alan Shearer has been named squad for this weekend's Premiership clash against Bolton Wanderers having spent the last three matches out on the sidelines due to a calf injury..

The 35-year-old will have a late fitness test ahead of the game, but caretaker boss Glenn Roeder is hopeful he will be able to return.

Kieron Dyer and Titus Bramble will both miss the game, although are well on the road to recovery from hamstring injuries.  Craig Moore will also not be considered for the game.

Michael Owen (foot), Stephen Carr (hernia), Steven Taylor (shoulder) are still out of action.
