Danny Blanchett settles into life at Crewe
Crewe Alexandra left back, Danny Blanchett, has revealed that after a steady start he will now be trying to offer more of an attacking threat down Crewe’s left side.
Blanchett, who has started every game so far this season, was signed by Crewe Boss Dario Gradi following his release from Peterborough on a free transfer in the summer.
23 year-old Blanchett told BBC Radio Stoke: "He (Gradi) wants me to improve my quality around the box
"He likes full-backs to get forward and produce good deliveries. As every game goes on I'm feeling stronger,"
He added: "I'm getting used to the way we play and starting to get forward more.
"You get to know your players better so you know when to go and when not to go and I think it's going well."
Blanchett also revealed the friendly rivalry with fellow full back Matt Tootle: "It's only me and Toots who haven't scored so we're having a competition to see who can get a goal and trying to get as high up the pitch as we can."
Crewe have now conceded 10 goals in the last 3 games.
