Another Fabregas Oscar Performance Seals Victory

An Oscar-winning direct free kick from Oscar early in the first half followed by an excellent goal by Cesc Fabregas early in the second half enabled Chelsea to cruise comfortably through their ten-a-side London derby at Selhurst Park. Admittedly the Eagles nabbed a late goal, courtesy of Campbell, but this blip aside, the Blues (or yellows to be precise) did enough to avenge their April setback at the same venue against the same opposition.

 However it wasn't all rosy in the garden, as the usually reliable Azpilicueta succeeded in getting himself sent off, but happily our hosts for the day generously reciprocated by quickly allowing themselves to be reduced to ten men too. How very thoughtful of them. Anyhow, Dave's loss is Filipe Luis's gain, as the Brazilian leftie looks set to make his Premiership debut away to the Chelsea wannabes of Old Trafford next Sunday. Furthermore, t'was also good to see young Dominic Solanke upgraded to the substitutes' bench, in the absence of the deadly Diego Costa. Meanwhile, congratulations are extended to Senor Fabregas for recording his first Premiership goal for Chelsea. Like Saul of Tarsus a few years before him, CF has gone from sworn enemy and hate figure to becoming 'one of us'. The Lord moves in mysterious ways. Amen.
