Reaction from Town manager Jim Magilton following Town’s 3-0 win against Ian Holloway’s Plymouth earlier today.

Jim: “I have not looked at the incident on tape but I thought Jon Walters did the right thing by cutting across the player and he was brought down, the referee wasn't going to give a foul but the linesman flagged. No one wants to see a player sent-off and I thought the red card was harsh but we have been on the end of those decisions this season.

 

“I don't think it would have mattered if Plymouth had 11 men on the pitch. They wouldn't have stopped the first two goals which were excellent.

 

“I thought we were well worth the two goal lead at the break but I was disappointed that we didn't carry on our play in the second-half.

 

“Credit to Plymouth. They gave it a real go and penned us back but we knew they would tire and Danny Haynes exploited that late on.

 

“His pace caused them problems and he took his goal well. I was also pleased for Ian Miller. It was his debut and a proud moment for him and I'm delighted for the lad.”
