Report: Watford 2-0 Town

Town fell to their first league defeat of the season, going 2-0 against Watford at Vicarage Road earlier today.

im Magilton used the same side that beat Palace last weekend, with the exception of Danny Haynes who was suspended, his place in the squad was taken by Jaime Peters.

The home side took the lead after just 6 minutes when Darius Henderson was able to shoot through the legs of Town goalkeeper Neil Alexander.

Town failed to create many chances during the first 45 minutes but Jon Walters had a shot blocked while Gary Roberts and Owen Garvan both missed the target.

Town started the second half better but still failed to find the back of the net, Alan Lee and Owen Garvan both fired wide of the target.

Watford sealed the win with 15 minutes to go when Tommy Smith fired home from 20 yards.

The home side almost scored a 3rd in the final moments when Jobi McAnuff's shot came back off the inside of the post.
