League One side Brighton and Hove Albion are keen on extending the loan of Town midfielder Matt Richards for another month.

The 22-year-old has played six games while on loan at the Withdean Stadium and kept four clean sheets in that time, he is due to return to Portman Road on Monday, but Brighton wish to extend his stay.

Brighton boss Dean Wilkins: "The plan is to keep Matt for another month, that's in discussion at the moment and I'm sure that will be finalised either this afternoon or on Friday morning.

"He's slowly but surely started to gain in confidence and started to produce the type of football that he's capable of.

"Maybe his confidence has been shot a bit over the last 18 months, but slowly and surely he's improving with every game."

Richards: "I've really enjoyed my time here so far. I'm enjoying playing games and being out on the pitch on a Saturday, so I'm very happy.

"I was a bit rusty in the first couple of games, but I'm slowly getting back into it. I haven't played regularly for a long time now, so I'm really benefiting from that and enjoying a run in the team."
