Town are expecting nearly 27,000 fans at Portman Road when Newcastle visit on Saturday.
Newcastle United fans have snapped up their full allocation of 1800 seats in the Cobbold stand and the clubs ticket office has already sold nearly 25,000 tickets with more expected to be sold before the 5:30pm kick-off.
The match which is being shown on BBC 2 will see Lady Elsie Robson officially rename the North Stand the Sir Bobby Robson Stand.
Town Ticket Office Manager John Ford: "Tickets have been selling well for the game and as well as the attraction of Newcastle coming to Portman Road, there is obviously the Sir Bobby Robson factor and the stand being renamed, we are closing in on 25,000 tickets sold and by kick-off on Saturday, we could have another one or two thousand on top of that.
"As always with a bigger crowd, we advise supporters to get to the game early."

Largest crowd (at the ground and on TV) for years - and they get to see that rubbish!
Ok if you were a neutral or Newcastle fan - they have class everywhere - sure to go straight back up!
