Ipswich Town manager, Joe Royle believes that former Ipswich full back, Chris Makin made a mistake by signing a one year deal at Leicester city.

The 31 year old who left Ipswich when his contract expired at the end of June after turning down an initial two month contract offer has signed for Leicester city on a one year deal, but Joe Royle believes that Makin made a mistake.

Joe has said that: “I'm not surprised Chris has signed for Leicester but it is only a one-year deal. If he had stayed with us then once he had shown he was fully fit at the end of the two months which we had offered then we would have been talking about a two-year deal at least.

“But that is Chris' choice. I feel he has been badly advised but he is old enough and experienced enough to make his own mind up.”.
