Shefki In Training
Ipswich Town striker Shefki Kuqi has today returned to training following three weeks out with a gashed thigh.
The 28-year-old has been named in the squad to face Wigan on Saturday although he may be dropped subject to a medical tomorrow morning.
Town manager Joe Royle has said: “Shefki has trained for the first time in three weeks and did okay but he's very rusty.
“There is no problem with his general fitness, he's a naturally fit lad anyway but he has not seen a ball for three weeks and we'll have another look at him on Friday.
“The specialist is very happy with his progress and he is way ahead of schedule after initially being told he could be out for six to eight weeks but he's had no football inside him for a while and we have to think about that.
“He will train again tomorrow and we will give him another fitness test and then make a decision from there.
“He's in the squad for now but if things change on Friday, we will add someone else to the squad if he doesn't make it.”
