Royle’s Reaction: Crewe

Reaction from Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle following Town’s 5-1 win against Crewe earlier today.

Royle: “It was a fantastic all-round performance from the players, they were fired up for the game and went at it from the first minute and we could have had more than the five goals.

 

“Tommy had his best all-round performance for us and was just ahead of Jim Magilton and the front two for man of the match.

 

“Darren and Shefki gave their defenders all sorts of problems and I said at half-time that if we could keep supporting our front players, we would score more goals.

 

“I still make Wigan odds on for second but we have given them something to think about.

 

“We can only go to Brighton now and win and hope Reading do us a favour and take something at the JJB and they need a result up there to get them in the Play-Offs. You can take it I'll be giving Steve Coppell a ring.”
