Donachie Defends Drissa

Ipswich Town assistant manager Willie Donachie has defended Town defender Drissa Diallo before Town’s play-off semi final second leg.

Diallo started for the first time since December in Town’s play-off semi-final game against West Ham and was given a torrid time by Hammers midfielder Matthew Etherington but Town’s assistant manager Willie Donachie has been quick to defend him.

Donachie: "Drissa was unfortunate. The first goal looked offside and then he had his hands full. But Etherington is a good player who has posed problems to better players than Drissa."

Diallo is unlikely to start on Wednesday and a defiant Donachie, who helped Ipswich to finish the regular season 12 points clear of the Hammers, added: "Deep down we know we are a better team than West Ham. The league table doesn't lie."
