Royle Knocked Back

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has revealed that he has been knocked back three times in his search for another loan defender.
Town had taken Charlton defender Mark Fish on-loan for a month as cover for Jason De Vos but Fish has returned to Charlton to work on his fitness leaving Joe Royle with just 4 fit defenders but he has tried to get in reinforcements.
Royle: “It is proving very hard to find players and it has been this way for a while.
“We are still waiting and hoping, but unless something happens to surprise me I don't see the situation changing before the weekend.”
“He (Fish) is still registered to us for the month but he has gone back to Charlton to work on his fitness.
“We will see how he is in the next ten days to two weeks and go from there. Young defenders Aidan Collins and Gerard Nash are injured, while Chris Casement isn't ready for this yet.
“I spent some time on the phone yesterday and asked about three defenders, but on each occasion the answer was no.

“Cracked ribs are notoriously slow to heal, so if he is ready to return in a fortnight or so I will be delighted.”
Rumours on the internet have suggested that the three targets were spurs pair Calum Davenport and Tom Huddlestone and West Ham defender Elliot Ward.
