Rumours on the internet are linking Ipswich with a move for 21-year-old Linfield striker Peter Thompson.
The reports are totally unsubstantiated at this time but the 21-year-old striker is reportedly being watched by the same scout that spotted Darryl Murphy around this time last year.
Up until the start of the current Irish season Peter had scored 29 goals for in 74 appearances (including 24 sub appearances) 27 of which came last season which helped Linfield to lift both the All Ireland Setanta Cup and the Antrim Shield while they missed out on the Irish League Premier Division title by just two points. So far this season Peter has scored 16 goals in just 18 games.
Peter signed a three year deal with Linfield earlier this year so will command a fee which unless a player leaves Town it is unlikely that he will join.
STB would like to point out that this rumour may-well be a complete load of rubbish but other sites spout this sort of stuff all the time.
