Report: Hull 2-0 Town
By Aston
December 29 2005
Ipswich Town continued to slide down the championship table after a 2-0 defeat against Hull City last night.
Nick Barmby and Craig Fagan scored the goals that consigned town to their 11th defeat of the season.
God only knows but Hull played the better football but somehow ended the game with just 45% of the possession but 100% of the goals which is fair as Town were poor in every department, the first chance for Town came in the second half, when Ian Westlake fired wide but soon after Hull had taken the lead.
Barmby scored his fifth goal of the season when he slotted home a cross from Jason Price, Town reacted with a few efforts which flew every side of the goalposts.
The tigers finished the game off with 20 minutes to go when former Colchester United striker Craig Fagan converted another cross from Jason Price.
Sito stopped it becoming 3-0 when he headed the ball off the line and Jason De Vos threw himself in the path of a Barmby effort as Town made an effort to limit the damage.
The team coach broke down twice on the journey up to

Town now sit 17th in the league if results on Saturday go against us we could find ourselves just one point above the relegation zone having played more games than teams that could leapfrog us, a big win for us and a big defeat for QPR could lift us to the dizzying heights of 13th.
