Town defender Jason De Vos has signed a one year extension to his contract with Town, his new deal expires in 2008.
The 32-year-old was linked with a move to Charlton earlier in the week still has a year to run on his current deal.
De Vos: “It is my ambition to play in the Premiership and when I look at the players around me at this Club, I see no reason why it can't happen here, the progress the young players have made here over the past year has made me feel very confident about the future and while the Play-Offs look unlikely this year, I see us as strong challengers for promotion next season.
“If I felt there was a better chance of taking a step up somewhere else then I may have had to give more thought to my future but that's not the case. This Club is heading in the right direction and that made signing the new contract the easiest decision of my career.
“The ambition of the Club matches mine, the coaching staff are fantastic, the facilities are first class. We have a terrific fan base and everything is geared towards moving forward.
“My family are settled in the area, which is very important to me and there is absolutely no reason to leave.”
