David Jones should be able to strengthen his battered Pools squad for this week's trip to Blackpool. Both Rhys Oates and Liam Donnelly should be fit after missing the 2-0 home defeat to Wycombe ..

Pool ;looked tired in that game after their win at Cambridge and couldn't convert pressure into meaningful threat.

By comparison a strong Wycombe side played to its strengths and it was a lesson learnt for a young Pools squad.

Fortunately Newport and Orient both lost as well so the margin is still nine points with one less game to go.

Another plus is that Car Magnay's name is now being mentioned after his lengthy lay off with injury. Saturday's was the type of game he would have relished, and it could well be that he makes the last few games of the season. He has been sorely missed at times.
