Moore Scores on his Debut in Memorable Win

Rovers produced probably the performance ofthe season to see off high profile leeds united at Elland Road. Jennison Myrie-Williams curled in the opener and Ian Moore headed in the second against his former club, to send the fantastic travelling Rovers support wild.

There was just one change to the side that had beaten Millwall, Yeovil and Gillingham and that was new signing Ian Moore who replaced Gareth Taylor in attack after Taylor left for Doncaster.
It was Gary McAllister's first game as Leeds manager so a lot was expected from Leeds but they were stunned by a totally class Rovers performance.
Ian Moore was desperate to impress on his debut and within 30 seconds he had won possession from a slide tackle.
The first team to threaten a goal was Tranmere, after Moore was brought down Paul McLaren hit the bar with the resulting free kick.
Elding and Howson both had efforts for Leeds but were both easily kept out by Coyne.
In first half stoppage time David Prutton hit the bar with a free kick so the woodwork count was 1-1, but the half time score was 0-0.
HALF-TIME: Leeds 0-0 Tranmere
On fifty minutes Beckford looped a header that tested Coyne but eleven minutes later on the hour mark it was Rovers who took the lead.
Robbie Stockdale's ball forward was flicked on by Moore and Jennison Myrie-Williams knocked it past Matt Heath. Williams took his time cut back and curled a delightful effort into the top corner to make it 1-0 to Rovers.
Minutes later Sherriff met McLaren's free kick with a good header which was expertly saved by Lucas.
A second goal was not long to follow and inevitably it came from a McLaren free kick. The midfielder sent a good ball into the six yard box and debutant Ian Moore met it perfectly and headed into the opposite corner. The Rovers fans were loving it as the players celebrated below them.
Chris Greenacre got a run out against the club he supports and Curran also got a few minutes towards the end as Rovers saw out the game relatively comfortably.
With only seconds left though, Tore Andre Flo missed a sitter for Leeds shooting straight at Coyne when he should have scored.

Greenacre ain't exactly been banging the goals in this year anyway!
