Weather Report
For once it wasn't wet and windy and neither was it all that cold either. The sun shone at times and for Players and Fans alike the conditions were better than anything the last few home matches have thrown at them.
Crowd
8,689 were inside Prenton Park but the atmosphere very rarely got going, especially from the home support it has to be said.
Referee Watch
Mark Haywood - A fairly un-noticeable game for Mr Haywood who was perhaps a little bit picky around free-kicks being taken but other than that had a fairly quiet game - 7/10
Best Moment
On a disappointing afternoon, the return of Steve Davies was probably the best moment of an otherwise un-notable game for Tranmere. The return of the Main Stand's very own shouty man after a prolonged absence this season was another boost for Main Standers everywhere!
Tranmere Man of the Match
Paul McLaren - An off day for the strikers and for the defence and in particular Ian Goodison but Paul McLaren did well in midfield and certainly had more than a fair say in Rovers' 60% possession in the game.
Opposition's Main Man
Wes Morgan - Scored the second goal for the visitors but also did superbly at the back to limit the amount of goal scoring chances Tranmere had in the game.
Connections
Ian Moore used to play for Forest but couldn't get on the score sheet today against them. Forest had no former Rovers Players in their squad.
Forest Fans
Yet another huge following from Nottingham who made themselves heard at times and even broke into a Conga towards the end of the match.
Summary
Rovers had the most possession and more than matched Forest in the first half of the game despite finding themselves 1-0 down at the halfway point.
The second half was disappointing and the second goal was the killer as Rovers, despite the possession never looked like creating enough to get two goals back even for the draw.
Nothing is impossible but Leeds play their game in hand on Tuesday at Huddersfield by which time, should Leeds win, all play-off hopes for Rovers will almost certainly be gone if they aren't already.
Entertainment Value
As a whole, the game was largely un-entertaining but it had a few good moments at both ends. Considering both sides were technically chasing a play-off place though prior to the game it was a little disappointing. - 6/10
Atmosphere
For such an important game, especially for Rovers, the atmosphere was pretty poor but Rovers Fans never really had much to shout about in terms of goalscoring chances - 5/10

The sound doesn't always carry very far!
In fairness though, the Kop is not ideal for carrying sound which takes us back to the Cowshed for home fans debate I suppose!
