With the first round Carling Cup tie away at Grimsby Town fast approaching, we take a look at what Ronnie Moore has had to say ahead of the game on Tuesday and also about last Saturday's defeat at Swindon in the nopening League game of the new season.

Ahead of Tuesday night's trip to Grimsby in the Carling Cup, Ronnie Moore spoke to Tranmere World about the forthcoming game and also reflected back to the 3-1 defeat at Swindon last Saturday.

 Ronnie said.....

"All games are winnable, it's how you play when you get there that counts.  The big thing

us is that the game has come quickly.  We don't have a week to think about what has gone."

"We want a cup run, there's no doubt about that.  Grimsby away isn't easy, but we've got to go there and take the game to them.  We're as good as anybody in the league, but you have to go out and produce."

"As individuals and as a unit we didn't defend well on Saturday.  It doesn't matter who you're playing, you won't win games defending like that. I hope it's a wake up call for them."

"We'll go through it this morning in training.  We'll show Antwi what we wanted him to do and what he didn't do.  But he's only young, he's still learning.  I'd like to think it was an off day for him and a learning curve for him."

"Danny [Coyne], Chris [Greenacre] and Gareth [Edds] will all train this morning, we'll see how they do.  Gareth is probably a week behind because he's been doing fitness work rather than ball work, so this game may come a week too early for him."

things like this do my head in about more. should he really be telling us this or could he have just had a quiet word with antwi without reporting to the press. i think this could dent his confidence

If Antwi is gonna get upset about a little comment like that then he will never make it as a pro. Moore hasn't come out and said he was @#$%&. Just that he needs to improve his game, as do most players at his age.

the comments he made about the whole back four except for goodison pretty much said he was crap!

ive been a bit confused about quite a few ronnie comments of late!! they are getting a it too honest for my liking

Another Shocker - his Rovers career is in ruins if the fans have their way!
